We had 15 days in a camper van in NZ in 2004. I can recommend it. We found the van on the internet by shopping arround. In our case the agent was in UK where we live. This was useful because you could ring her for advice before booking and before we travelled. I have heard of KEA and have no reason to assume they are not fine. It is a great way to see NZ.

KEA are absolutely fine. Alternatives are Britz, Maui and Pacific Horizon. All are excellent companies. See your nearest travel agent and they can book it for you and explain all the conditions in regards to excess and bond.

KEA, MAUI, & BRITZ are good companies, no worries, their residents prices are quite similar.
But if you have some flexibility from time to time, check the link below, the prices can be just amazing
